Cemetery Inquiries

Middle Musquodoboit Cemetery Corporation

This body was officially incorporated under the laws of Nova Scotia in l967 although a committee had been responsible for the orderly operation of our two cemeteries - Pioneer and Hillside - for more than 100 years prior.

The annual meeting of the cemetery committee is held on the third week in April of each year and is made up of at least six volunteer members from the community at large. The Cemetery Corporation is responsible for the preservation, improvement, and management of both cemeteries including the care and investment of all funds for cemetery purposes.

It has been the policy of the corporation to treat all plots with perpetual care even though financial support is no longer available from many families who have moved to places unknown, some leaving many years ago.

Our yearly budget is always stretched to the limit and without the many hours of volunteers, your Cemetery Committee would be hard pressed to carry on. You can help by making a donation, large or small, towards the ongoing upkeep and respect for the graves of those who are entrusted to our care.
