Study
The
participants of this group are a seeking, searching, studying,
and learning group using a recommended United
Church of Canada curriculum entitled “Seasons of the
Spirit”. We follow the
“lectionary” prepared readings for the church years of A, B,
and C, which represents the gospels according to Matthew, Mark
and Luke. The Gospel
according to John is interspersed in all three years.
The readings can be found in the Gathering Resource and
also in the back of the Voices United Worship Resource.
We
participate in respectful discussions about how the weekly
scripture readings relate to our present day lives.
We are experiencing new learnings from the discussions of
the words of scripture. We
are also learning from activities that we carry out, from
questions which arise from the readings, and our personal
interpretations of posters which come with the weekly resources.
We
respect and accept where each person is on their journey of
faith. We offer support
to one another when we are in situations that require us to be
caring persons.
We
want to extend an invitation to others to join us on Wednesday
mornings at 10 am at the Enterprisers Hall.
Looking forward to your presence!
We begin in the fall, usually around October and end when
the gardening and housecleaning needs to begin sometime in late
April or early May.
Each session is closed with the following blessing:
God
be in your head, and in your understanding.
God
be in your eyes, and in your looking.
God
be in your mouth, and in your speaking.
God
be in your heart, and in your loving.
God
be at your end, and at your departing.
